Hardyston Township Full-Time Class I/Class II Laborer – Hardyston Township is accepting applications for the vacancy of one full time Class I or Class II Laborer. Class I Laborer duties include but are not limited to the maintenance of buildings, grounds, roads and storm sewers. Examples of work include mowing, weed whacking, snow plowing, directing traffic and paving. Applicant must be able to pick up a minimum of 80lbs. Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License. Class II Laborer requires a valid NJ Class B Commercial Driver’s License. In addition to the duties outlined above a Class II Laborer’s duties include but are not limited to the operation of single & tandem axle trucks and heavy machinery. Prior public works experience preferred. Automotive/mechanical repair experience a plus. Drug test and background check required. Salary range is $15.50-$21.00/hour DOQ. Part-time Zoning Officer – The Township of Hardyston is seeking a qualified candidate to become the Township’s Zoning Officer. The position is expected to require 8 – 10 hours per week. Hourly rate $30-$45/hour dependent on qualifications. Candidate must be available to provide in-person office hours during regular municipal office hours. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the review of zoning applications and permits, conducting zoning inspections, and enforcement of zoning regulations. The employee will coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Planning, and various boards. Candidates should work well with the public and have basic computer skills (Microsoft word, excel and outlook). Position will require periodic attendance at evening meetings and court hearings for zoning and code violations issued. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in zoning review and enforcement and possess strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Zoning Official Certification required. Part-time Dispatcher: The Hardyston Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time radio dispatcher. State of New Jersey Certification in Basic 911 and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) is required. Applicant must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.  Police dispatchers relay information from the public to the respective areas of the police department and coordinate all emergency responses.  Applicants must be able to speak in a clear, concise and professional manner.  Applicants must have the ability to work effectively under stress and handle crisis situations, if necessary. Applicants must possess the ability to use computer-oriented data processing and communications equipment. This is part-time position hourly paid position. Rate of pay is $18 – $22 per hour dependent on experience.
